If you’re asking this because you intend to marry your Filipino girlfriend, then go for it because we make great wives. I’m a Filipina myself, so I may be biased, but you may just get the same response from other men as well.
Before going deeper, let me just mention how Filipinos in general are highly valued in the global workforce because we’re adaptive and resilient to whatever life throws at us.
This is important to note because it just shows why we can be good partners. Being a wife, especially to a growing family, is hard work in itself. But off the top of my head, I can give you these main reasons why we Filipinas make good wives:
1. Filipinas are inherently caring and nurturing
The Philippines has a very collective culture in general. What this means is that we have very close relationships with our families — even extending to distant relatives. And if you stop by any Filipino households, it is commonly the females who are taking care of the family.
They are taught from a young age to manage the household and look after siblings and grandparents. Considering this, Filipinas develop a certain tenderness and caring nature for others.
2. Filipinas are very responsible
Filipinos believe that each family member needs to have certain responsibilities at home.
When we were young, my siblings and I were in charge of helping with chores (and of course studying); our father was in charge of earning money, and occasionally helping at home as well. And for my mom?
She was in charge of keeping the house together, and that included cleaning and cooking. She also had the difficult task of keeping the peace at home.
This is probably one of the reasons why Filipina mothers are labeled as the “ilaw ng tahanan” which means “light of the family”. Because they do their best to create a warm and loving environment within the house.
The most solid proof is right in front of you. Whatever you love about her, you can thank her mother for that. I’m sure she was raised to be that way.
If you love your Filipina as a girlfriend, you will most definitely love her as your wife.
