“How does one know the lady that will make a good wife?”
It certainly is a challenge to find a good wife and life partner.
Lots of people have made mistakes and it usually ends up costing them a lot of heartaches and grievances.
There’s no quick and easy answers but if you’re considering marrying a woman you’re interested in, you’ll need to consider these questions.
Is she trustworthy? No relationship can survive if there isn’t trust and honesty. It’s important to know if she’s reliable with the information she’s given and a good team player.
For example, can she keep a secret? Everyone likes to gossip but can she tell the difference between keeping serious personal things off the gossip table or does she spit it out to anyone who listens?
Is she emotionally mature? You need to know if she can handle being an adult when she’s faced with a difficult problem.
Does she complain, throw a temper tantrum, and blame others? Or does she do her best to provide a solution?
Is she respectful towards you? In a relationship, love and respect goes both ways. It’s even written in the bible.
To quote Ephesians 5:33, “Let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.”
It means that just as wives need love, husbands also need respect. Because when a husband feels respected by his wife, he begins to live a life that is worthy of his wife’s respect.
Lastly, is she on your side? This is the most important. Because as a man, you’ll need someone to watch your back and support you when you’re feeling down.
For example, does she encourage you to be the best version of yourself? Does she believe in your goals and help you achieve them? Is she there for you through thick and thin?
Every man has different needs so the idea of a good wife might not be the same as the others. The best you can do is to look for a woman who already has the traits you’re looking for in a wife.
