“Do parents’ opinion hold significant weight when choosing a life partner?”

For me, they do. Parents’ opinions are valuable in the aspect of marriage, especially in Asian culture.

As an Asian woman who grew up family-oriented, I value my parents’ opinion so much. They know things I haven’t discovered yet, especially when it comes to love and marriage. They are the ones who raised me, honed me into who I am today and how I view things.

Their opinions matter because they are simply my parents, and I know they only want the best for me. Their opinions hold more value than anything else.

However, listening to your parent’s opinion doesn’t mean that they’re the ones who will make the decision for you. They can share their sentiments on your love life but they cannot make the final say.

You are a grown up stepping into the journey of a lifetime relationship. So you are responsible for the choices you make and the things that you want to pursue in life.
